Every combat unit, yes. I can't think of one that doesn't.
Even some non-combat units have secondary modes.

Not all units will get feature articles.
I pick ones that I think will be:
1) Easy to write for
2) Look good in pictures
3) A good representation of the faction

But I still have no clue how many there are and what types. They don't all need a special article, but a small description with an image would be fine in the first place - so people from outside can also get a global view on which units there are.

There are 12 - 13 units per Faction + buildings + defensive structures.
Yep, we've not shown a lot yet...
We've got infantry, heavy infantry, light vehicles, heavy vehicles and aircraft.
Out of them we have scouts, anti-vehicle, anti-infantry, anti-air, anti-structure, siege units, commander units, fast-attack, etc.

This kind of information would do well on the official website, you know.
You don't have to give out all information, of course, but this information is nice for people from outside.

12-13 doesn't seem like too many, but then again most units have two abilities which almost doubles the number of possible "units." I guess Supreme Commander kind of spoiled us with the hundreds of units for each faction.

Be careful guys, I'm a fan of Supreme Commander. Although, naturally... I like SunAge more.
SupCom has around 40 units per faction although between the factions you have equivalent units which are pretty much the same and between tech levels you have similar units.
In SunAge ALL units are unique. The basic Soldier for the Federals is NOT duplicated by the Cultist for the Raak-Zun or the Drone Trooper for the Sentinel. Although they are a similar "slot", they are NOTHING alike.
So that means we have around 38 unique units in SunAge + almost all of them have dual-functionality.
Then of course, there are the buildings and defences.

Its one of many kinds of weaponry. If I remember right, this one was very effective against infantry.

Generally, bullet weapons are effective against infantry.
But why is this? Well that's simple. Bullets own Flak Armor.
But is it only infantry? Well, no. The Golgotha has Flak Armor too.
Is it all infantry? Nope, the Cyborg has Plated Armor!

You can pop up a screen ingame with a lot of information on a certain unit. Very handy
