 News Article: Federation Week Extended!
» Federation Week Extended!
We are extending Federation Week! So it'll probably be Federals Week-and-a-Half, or 10 days, too strict for that, or maybe...
Without further ado, we present the fast-attack bipedal assault mech for the Federal Army known only as the Centurion!
I wont spoil it for you, just check out today's feature!
The Centurion in it's alternate mode.
Feel free to discuss the Centurion here!

I like it.
A fast mech that is useful against both men and machines/buidlings? Yes, please! It's like having TS' Wolverine and Titan rolled into one. As for that weapon interchangebility (sp?), can the gatling be swapped for the plasma cannon on the fly when it is researched? Or does it have to be converted by a specialized unit? After all, mowing down infantry guarding a building, followed shortly after by blowing up said building in a haze of plasma sounds pretty nice.
I guess this question goes for every unit out there in SunAge...

One of the images for the Centurion has dead units in it. I don't think we've seen that yet, i was a tad worried that corpses wouldn't exist and units would just disappear.

You... are very observant. Even I didn't notice that and it's my article!

Hot!
Do they have to remain stationary while they charge up their plasma weapon or something though?

Right
For using the plasma shot they have to stand still. They can still charge when
running tough. It has a higher reloading time in that mode so, its sometimes a good strategy to put a squad of centurions of the battle to recharge, and then move in for the initial strike.
And yes, we have dead corpses lying around.

Seeing as the plasma weapon needs to recharge, does that mean it is quite powerful then? And I suppose the gatling can fire while the Cent is on the move?

Well yes, it is powerful against the right units., Its a laser weapon, so it can
strike through several units in a row. (up to 3), and laser weapons are strong
against plated armor & structural armor.
AND it deals additional plasma splash damage (only effective against medium
& heavy units)
So, if you use it against soldiers, its not the best choice, but everything that
is bigger, or has plated armor will be effected big time.

So in a mirror match, the alt mode of the Centurion will be good against the Liberator.
But watch out, if the Liberator is in alt mode, it'll tear the Centurion apart... assuming the Liberator is near a trasmitter...

*tries to stop drooling*
You guys are awesome! Already pictured the Cent and Libby duking it out. So Laser ammunition goes through max. 3 units? Is that like 3 tanks, or 3 rows or troopers?

yup, laser bolts strike through 3 units, no matter what it is. BUT there are
some restriction, for instance: energy shields & structural armor blocks it
out totally. So having some drone troopers with alt-mode (shield) is a good
thing. OR: the Raakzun-taurus (the house-like ground & air unit transporter)
has structural armor, so can be used to block lasers (and also fire.)

Alright Corg, don't tell them the whole game.
Why not give away the plot ending as well... then they'd know that the butler did it. Whoops. :O

Yes, you must make an upgrade module which you can upgrade (without builder unit). So its handy to have a dozen unupgraded-modules near critical locations so you can quickly adjust.
