Hi,

just bought the game through the MS Store.
I've installed it on both my PCs (laptop+Surface3).
On Surface3 everything seems OK, in the Skirmish mode I can see few Internet games.
But on the laptop the game still says "Connection pending...", "(i) Establishing connection to Master Server...".
I've tried to turn the firewall off, restart the PC, etc. Sure, all other applications works with the Internet well.

My goal is to play the game with my son on our home LAN, but I cannot see the game available on the other PC when created a host skirmish on the first one and vice-versa.
I've tried both the wifi and cable connections, but nothing helped.

Note: both PCs runs on Win8.1.
On Surface3 I'm logged in with my LiveId with which I bought the game, on the other PC I'm in with my local PC credentials(only MS Store is paired with my LiveId).

Hi Milan,

that is indeed weird. You should at least

1. get a connection to the master-server on all devices
2. see your sons game or vice versa. Setting the combo box to "LAN" might help there.

Anyway it really sounds like a firewall problem.
Please doublecheck if Sunage has enabled access.

Hi again,

I tried to connect from different networks also with turned the Windows Firewall completely off, but no success still.
Is there any particular vertex support page plz.?

Do I need to be logged in to my computer via my LiveId to be able to connect to the Master Server? - Maybe some security/anti-piracy check in SunAge?
I'm logging in to my laptop with my company credentials and cannot change it, just I have paired the Store with my personal LiveId and so bought and installed the game.

Hi Milan,

please try to ping the masterserver.
its master.vertex4.com and should resolve to 86.59.121.53.

Is it possible that you use any kind of VPN with your company laptop ? If yes, also deactivate this please.

Hi,

thanks for your support.

I've tried to ping the mentioned destination.
My system is able to resolve the ip address of that host, but the requests timing out.

Pinging master.vertex4.com [86.59.121.53] with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

I do not have any VPN turned on.
I have again tried to turn the Windows Firewall completely off while testing it.
I have also System Center Endpoint protection installed, but there is nothing in its configuration panel what should block this communication.
Still this SW could be the reason. I will try to investigate further.

nop, I'm unable to get it getting the response from that host/ip.

Other IP addresses or hosts are pingable without issue.
I will try to ping that host from different computer.

Any known issues with System Center Endpoint Protection?

ah sorry, my bad.

The master is not pingable externally.
Anyway name resolution seems fine.

I'm fairly sure that you simply can't receive UDP messages on port 27960 with your current configuration.
Just as a test: can u use your smartphone as a router and try it then ?

If thats not working then the problem seems to be some firewall setting or something similar installed on your computer.
If thats working: the problem is somewhere to be found in your router - settings.
