 Re: Best Games.
Hard to say. In no particular order.. my top 5:
Half-Life (PC) StarCraft (PC) MDK (PC) Sonic 2 (Megadrive/Genesis) Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
Maybe not the "best" games I ahve played, but they left a huge lasting impression on me.

1. Delta Force Land Warrior 2. Half Life 2 3. Armored Core 4. Front Mission Series 5. Multiple RPGS from final fantasy games(7 is good, 12 is good) to randoms like saga frontier or grandia 2..etc

 Re: Best Games.
Reviving this nice thread My top 5: 1. Deus ExAbsolutely the most wonderful game I have ever played. Its story, gameplay, music, everything is 100% perfect, well maybe besides JC's voice acting at times... Still, I regularly play through it, maybe once a year, every single year since its release in 2000. It's that wonderful. 2. Half-Life 2Well... what can I say? Veeery close to being number one. What makes Half-Life 2 so good, is that everything is so well made. There is not one single bad or boring aspect of the game, it is pure enjoyment from beginning to end. Also, the graphics of Half-Life 2 are THE best of any video game. Ever. 3. Crysis/WarheadCrysis has always been a belowed game to me because of its really strong cinematic feeling. As you may have noticed I play almost only single-player games. Why? I play games just like I would watch a movie, to experience a story, to feel inside the game world. Crysis is just that kind of game. The story itself is not that great, but the way the game tells it is. WONDERFUL music and FLAWLESS voice actors makes this game amazing. 4. Unreal 2This is such a underrated game. People complained about it saying it was nothing but an ordinary plain FPS. Well, it is. But it takes all these FPS features and develops them to perfection. The FEELING of the game is so perfect, the way you walk, the way you jump. Everything feels real and totally amazing. 5. Warlords Battlecry IIIThis is a quite unknown RTS, which is sad I think. Basically it is a RTS with really strong RPG features and a HUGE number of races to choose from (and these races are different, like SunAges or WC3s, not like Age of Empires'). A great game with wonderfully rendered graphics (much like SunAge) definitely worth checking out. Phew! That took some time to write EDIT: Hmm, maybe this thread should be moved...

 Re: Best Games.
Fps: Perfect Dark (nintendo 64) (no matter how you twist and turn it, it is better than every shooter youve ever encountered and yeah it even is better than your beloved goldeneye. for the perfect dark HD release ill get an xbox360 just for this game)
strategy:age of empires 2 (pc) (there have been alot of good strategy games and the best are 2D and this one stands on top. sunage could only stand a chance if they improved it the way i suggested it in suggestions forum...........btw blizzard rts suck)
adventure:zelda ocarina of time(nintendo 64/gamecube(master quest)) (gamespots first perfect 10 do i have to say more?)
horror/survival:resident evil 4 (gamecube) (i never really cared about the resident evil series but this one was a surprising hit for the first time i played it, yeah there have been more scary games but not with this kind of production values)
beat em up(2D): garou mark of the wolves (neo geo/ps2) (im running wild on this one! out of the tons of games SNK produced this one shines more than anything)
shoot em up: mega man x2 (super nintendo entertainment system) (its just like mega man x but better)
honorable mention for games that taught me a lesson:
mount and blade - free roaming beats even the best written storyline (in your face bioware!)
shadow of the colossus - you dont even need to have a reason or background information to enjoy a game as long as the gameplay rocks
diablo 2 - tons of loot is awesome
borderlands - even the crappiest fugliest shooter can turn into something fun with diablo 2 loot
fable the lost chapters - danny elfman is the best music componist
sid meiers pirates - pirates are cool
battlefield series - noob teams destroy even the best player
mass effect - im never NEVER going to buy an bioware game again, i want my money back!
aion - p2p games are dead for me, never trust reviews on mmorg titles
spore - customization is always fun
all strategy games(except turn based ones) - theres no point to play strategy titles in singleplayer, i play em only in skirmishes or multplayer
f2p mmo titles - except for runes of magic there isnt any title worth playing for more than a week
games youve never heard of/cared about or got bad reviews for no reason:
note: check out demos/trials of those games if youre interested, BUY the games and dont PIRATE em! i dont care if you pirate on of the bigger companies like blizzard or bioware...but the smaller ones need the money!
heroes of annihilated empires - very innovative rts/rpg hybrid, think of heroes of might and magic series in real time, got bad reviews for no appearent reason, a must buy for lan parties
rising kingdoms - very pretty nicely animated 2D warcraft 3 clone and heck its way better than warcraft! with independent colonies to conquer and lots of loot
mount and blade - 15 bucks for sheer awesomness, medieval free-roam/ sandbox rpg, great battles with yourself on the battlefield, game can be expansed with hundreds of mods
clonk series - nice 2d title which can be alot depending of what scenarios mods are used, skill, action, fighting, puzzle, jump and run.... and more! , there are hundreds of mods made by thecommunity.this title is not to be missed by 2D fans, previous installement clonk endeavour is free now
warlords battlecry 3 - 2d rpg/rts mix, lots of races and no level cap for your hero has been mentioned before
act of war:direct action / high treason expansion - 3d rts modern warfare title, seems to be overlooked since there was no "command and conquer" written on the box....lol
disciples 2 series - i just recently found out about this title, pretty nice 2d game in the gameplay style of heroes of might and magic just darker and more "gothic style" , its more focused on rpg and leveling than the heroes of might and magic series
PS: BIOWARE SUCKZORS! GIMME MY MONEY BACK!

I am shocked. believe it or not... there is. i never actually considered "triggering unit skills at the right second" a part of strategy. i mean look at it, you just missed the second to activate a ability to make your succesfull move, because you were concentrating on expanding your base and your entire skirmish and your complete tactic is ruined because you just didnt trigger a freakin super ability O.o for me thats not part of a strategy game. this, warcrafts stupid comic look, starcrafts horrible music, lack of diplomatic systems and the selection cap of 12 units, are destroying blizzard rts´s for me. well looks like im goin off topic

 Re: Best Games.
looks like there isnt much activity in here so i wont edit my old post and just write something new street-brawler (2D): Sengoku 3 (neo-geo) (lots of good old school brawler are out there but this one is the most featureful and one of the best animated ones along with nice music. tons of super moves, seven chars to choose from (2 unlocked midgame), lots of boss fights and an incredibly addicting combo system make this game a win) UPADTE: flight-sim: Freespace 2 (huge dogfights, giant spaceships with huge laser cannons an nice story and very surprising unexpected ending, believe me. big selection of spaceships and weapon loadouts, coop multiplayer make this game a win)
